About the role

Provide high-level expert advice on experimental design, technical support on proteomic sample preparation, mass spectrometry and data analysis, and training for staff and students on mass spectrometry equipment in this challenging and varied position within La Trobe’s Research Platforms program.

To be successful, you will possess attributes including:

  • A PhD degree in (bio)chemistry or protein chemistry plus substantial experience and expertise in mass spectrometry of biological molecules and proteomics, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge and experience.
  • Extensive expertise in and experience operating and maintaining mass spectrometry and associated sample preparation equipment, particularly in the molecular and biological sciences, used by a diverse group of academic scientists, post graduate research students and technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience in a range of mass spectrometry techniques and analysing material from a range of biological specimens.
