ALACC is a Vocational Education and Training (VET) college based in Melbourne (Preston), offering nationally recognised courses. We are seeking a permanent, full time Accountant with 3-5 years’ experience to join our hardworking and supportive team in Preston VIC. This role would be well suited to an individual with experience in financial and accounting industry. Some of the responsibilities of the Accountant are:

• Develop financial management systems and procedures to ensure effective operation of the College’s financial resources.
• Monitor and analyse regular financial management information to ensure that associated information systems Maintenance of systems and processes to maximise accounts payable.
• Support the Director to make changes that lead to better financial input.
• Support the Director in maintaining the College financial records
• Support the Director in implementing business plan and procedural policies and guidelines that relate to the efficient and effective functioning of the College.
• Support the Director to monitor accounts against the budget and assist in the preparation of student income and forecasts
• Oversee the quarterly production of the course fees billing
• Followup student overseas account.
• Manage the preparation of all bank reconciliation statements of the College Accounts.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: 

• Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent industrial experience
• At least 3 years' experience of working in the similar role
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
• Well-developed skills and abilities in information technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong team player
• Demonstrated ability to be self-managing to meet deadlines without close supervision
